There are several day trips that are worth consideration in the Cardiff area. Depending on the length of time you are willing to spend driving you can visit beaches, trails or one of several museums. The in Gower are pristine. Some can be difficult to reach and the facilities are limited. Our family does not mind hiking into a beach but it is physically demanding. Most of the beaches have parking but no public transportation. A cheap car hire Cardiff will get you there. The Gower beaches are worth the trip. If you have not been to an undeveloped beach recently, make time for this activity.
