Many people go into jewelry stores shopping for the perfect certified diamonds, but have you done your homework? There are many things to consider when making an investment in diamonds.

Yes, certified diamonds are definately an investment, one to be passed down from generation to generation. Learning the four “C’s” of diamonds are a great way to educate yourself before making your purchase.

The first is Color…most people think of diamonds only one way, clear. But there are literally dozens of different colors to choose from. The second is Cut…the cut of your certified diamonds depends on your individual taste and budget.

A standard round cut will usually be a lot less expensive then say a heart or trilliant cut. The third is Clarity…the clarity of a diamond is rated on a scale known as the GIA scale (Gem Institute of America).

The better the clarity of the diamond on this scale ranked from FL or flawless, to I3, imperfect, the pricier the certified diamonds are going to be.
