How should a diamond be cut
Miscellaneous August 28th. 2009, 7:10amThere’s an important question anybody in the production of polished diamonds from their rough state should ask themselves whether that person is the rough marker, sawer, cleaver, girdler, or polisher. And that is how should this diamond be cut – meaning what Diamond Cut should this piece of rough ultimately be. This question, while seemingly simple, is usually the one that will determine whether this diamond becomes profitable or not. You see, if the piece of rough is more suited (and by more suited, I mean will have a higher yield) to become a heart shape diamond, then you have to consider not only that heart shapes have cheaper per carat prices when compared to other shapes, but that they are in less demand as well.
