It is very popular in Australia, and is growing in popularity in New Zealand as well, with more and more popularity growing across the globe. These Supercar events take place in almost all of the Australia states, except for Western Australia. Rounds are also known to happen in New Zealand and Abu Dhabi. The crowds drawn to the races can sometimes exceed 250,000 people, and the 2007 season stretched over fourteen weekends. The category runs on purposed built tracks and speedways, and is a growing category.
